The Project

By God’s grace in April 2024 we were able to secure a mortgage to purchase 99 East Barnet Road as the new home for Hope Church. It has been fantastic to move all of our midweek activities into the building, providing us with a visible presence in the community that we are seeking to reach with the good news of Jesus Christ. 

However, the building to the rear is not currently suitable for use either in mid-week or for our Sunday gatherings. In October 2024, we were granted planning permission to knockdown the building and build a purpose-built hall. Since then we have been working to finalise plans for the project and to raise the required funds.

Principles of Giving

We ask all who consider Hope Church Barnet to be their church family (and anyone else who would like to partner with us in our Gospel work), to prayerfully consider giving freewill offerings towards the project over and above their regular giving.

In 2 Corinthians 8-9 we see Paul commend the Macedonian Church for their generosity in financial giving. From here, we can draw the following principles to consider, which apply to our giving generally and to this project. We are called to give….

• In response to God’s grace in Christ (8:8-9)

• According to our means and sacrificially (8:3, 11-12 and see Mark 12:41-44)

• Eagerly (8:4)

• Voluntarily and cheerfully (9:7)

• Trustingly (9:8)

• For the glory of God (9:11-12)
